Other people are my therapy
I love people, I really do I've always been this way since I was small, my mum said I made friends wherever I went, I think it was true, I just have a natural affinity to people, obviously I don't warm to everyone that would be ridiculous, beyond the initial pleasantries you can't gave hundreds of good friends, but I have many many good friends and stable relationships that I pour time into .
I'm hoping it's something my children inherit, both my older children are confident communicators and speak confidently when spoken too , they also hold strong friendships also.
For oscar I feel it's a different journey he doesn't have the skills to hold friendships yet, that hold any substance ,but he is learning to tolerate people, and I make point to keep people in his life , once his journey might be over with them ,we keep people, old nursery workers, therapists, old friends so as he moves along his little journey ,he can be supported by more and more people, the term for this I use is building our army, and I feel its so important .
Oscar is becoming more and more familiar with his routine and will understand if I show him a photo prior to a visitor coming for instance, home therapy? A speech therapist Marc Shilling is a weekly visitor to our home and oscar is starting to form a relationship with marc, its taken 6 months really of consistency for oscar to begin this process he doesn't trust easily, once your in, your in with Oscar, and again if Oscar is to stop having this therapy at any point marc will remain in his life, I do warn professionals, we keep people I truly mean it, they are Oscars army .
For me I find people in general very much part of my way through this journey emotionally, personally as I find support from other peoples journeys, I learn from them and apply it to my life ,and professionally with born anxious, as the feedback and support we have had so far has literally blown me away, our be kind message is growing and people understand it, they understand our story, hopefully apply it to their own journey, and most of all they wish us well 💙we have had well wishes from as far as Australia and America, social media really is such a power full network, and so we continue growing and recruiting our Army, learning from others with not too many sleepless night in-between!
